Certainly, the most unique and engaging workspace in Central New York, these “business” interiors are richly themed to reflect the company’s gaming culture. TCGPlayer.com. operates an online hub for trading card games and “geek culture collectibles” – games that feature lots of wizards, elves, dragons, goblins, and other creatures. Various work areas are individually modeled into a wizard’s castle, a pirate ship and a spaceship - each with custom features uniquely designed for that experience. Employees are encouraged to work freely at mobile desks throughout the open areas, a transformative concept for an enjoyable working environment supporting a new business model.
This project transformed existing retail space into TCG’s corporate headquarters and warehouse space. They chose a prominent site strategically located across from the Syracuse Technology Garden, a business incubator for tech start-ups, fostering an emerging “tech hub”. Still awaiting future installation may be a flying dragon projecting through the glass façade, as shown in the rendering. The transparency and excitement of the project reinforces the Syracuse streetscape with an urban vibe attractive to tech employees.
