Empower Federal Credit Union, Headquarters

This project transformed an abandoned manufacturing building into the Empower FCU corporate regional headquarters. 

Having been unoccupied for 10 years, this adaptive reuse required code compliance upgrades, structural modifications, and new mechanical systems to allow for maximum flexibility, natural light, and open interior space.

The envelope and system modifications included:

• replacing the roof,

• cladding the exterior wall with insulated panels,

• increasing and replacing the existing windows,

• adding roof skylights, and

• replacing the existing mechanical system.

The program included a new entrance and reception lobby; open office space to accommodate 300 employees, including future growth projections; boardroom and meeting areas; corporate IT center (1500+ SF) with IT testing laboratory; facility support spaces; and employee amenities including a cafeteria and fitness center.
