The Mt. Van Hoevenberg Base Lodge and Sliding Sports Facility, an intensive fast-track design-build project, is a state-of-the-art indoor bobsled/ luge/skeleton training center. The building serves Mount Van Hoevenberg as its trail head welcoming center and includes retail shop, ski/boot rental, food services, ticket office, field house running track, climbing wall and a 500 ft. long push-track. The training facility brings world-class athletes even closer to the guests as their indoor push track runs alongside the restaurant and VIP lounge.
This contemporary design contributes to an entirely revitalized Olympic Sports Complex. Nordic skiers will enjoy an expanded trail system leading to a new stadium; and a paved trail system will provide unprecedented year-round access for both recreational and elite-level skiers. A new “Mountain Coaster” follows the historic 1932 /1980 Olympic bobsled courses to offer the longest track in North America. Altogether, these facilities will provide a stellar experience for the athletes and the public.
