QPK assisted the Village through years of site selections and evaluations for this project before the community settled on the site, a gateway from two directions. Situated near a historic neighborhood and within a residential zone, the design elements were important to complement the character of the community.
The primarily brick facade includes precast elements to emulate limestone. Generous roof overhangs with decorative brackets and gable bracing are supplemented with arched keystone overhead doors for the apparatus bays.
Four drive-thru double bays house fire apparatus equipment. Interior spaces include an auxiliary dispatch center, offices, conference room, and a large staff training room with an adjacent kitchen that supports large emergency calls and doubles as a public meeting room. The site work required a large parking area for emergency responders, as well as vegetative buffers to adjacent properties.
